L'esprit des lieux

Rooms

The exhibition is made up of several rooms. Something like an appartment. Something like the windings of a labyrinth.
Each room has a theme:
_________Studio
_________Storage
_________Music room
_________Kitchen
_________Patio

The way from one room to another ... the time of the exploration ... the surprise ... the unfolding of a story ...

Objects

Some 80 objects, most of them animated by a small engine. Their function: drawing and writing.

A world in which the smallest of objects has something it would like to say.

Working

With the progress of time, the drawings become more complicated and change. Some machines destroy the medium of their creation. Papers full of holes, worn-out pencils are part of the themes of the exhibition just as much as the automatically produced works.

Mechanical precision

Dreams of an automated world, dreams of a perfect and highly precise technique are illustrated by rudimentary elastic and flexible relentless machines.

Dreams, souvenirs and every-day life

All the objects of the exhibition have lived, have had a past. Many are no longer in fashion. The effect of recognition participates in the making of the dream.
